Summary
A Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production workers in a department or work cell. Also assists production workers with all tasks, as needed.

Job Duties
- Follow and enforce all safety regulations
- Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees
- Ensure production work is completed timely and efficiently
- Assists production workers with production tasks as needed, including but not limited to: grinding, assembly, welding, painting, material handling
- Work with Managers and other Leads to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
- Demonstrate equipment operations along with work and safety procedures to new employees or assign new employees to experienced workers for training
- Actively participates in a LEAN Manufacturing culture
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Manufacturing experience
- Direct working knowledge of operations
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility and flexibility
- Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to watch, duplicate and troubleshoot processes to make improvements

- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures

- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various processes
- Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedure
- Overtime as required
- Consistent attendance is an essential function of this position
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted, 50 or more pounds with assistance
- Regularly works in conditions that include heat, humidity, cold and exposure to dust
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects
- Must be able to see, breathe, stand, walk, crawl, bend, climb and stoop
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
