Who are we looking for…?

A skilled maintenance engineer to manage the maintenance program and equipment located at Stow, OH. The candidate will be required to oversee the service and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment, including Daniels robotic wash lines, autoclaves, boilers, and facilities to support the local site operation. The role includes travel and on occasion short notice support to sites where emergency maintenance is required. The candidate shall have a strong background in remote trouble shooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and the ability to develop a sound knowledge of the working operations of a medical waste processing center.

 

Role Overview:

The role is focused on the management of the maintenance system and servicing of equipment, emergency repairs, procedures for the best practice of machine adjustments, repairs and training the operations and local maintenance staff on the requirements to successfully maintain the equipment. Management of the maintenance system will be accomplished using a computerized maintenance management system software which the candidate will have administrative responsibility over. The role will involve travel to facilities as needed to address major breakdowns, upgrades, installations, and other emergency situations where service / maintenance personnel are required.

 

 What you will do:

  • Develop and supervise preventative maintenance plans for key items to ensure equipment is maintained to OEM or higher requirements.
  • Perform remote, as well as on-site, troubleshooting, service, and repairs to get them back in production as quickly as possible.
  • Provide timely engineering and technical support to maintenance and operational staff.
  • Communicating with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to arrange spare parts, travel schedules and support
  • Design and implement effective machine upgrades and modifications, to achieve improvements in safety, compliance, quality, reliability, or efficiency objectives.
  • Assemble, align, and install equipment and machine upgrades as necessary while adhering to timeline and budget
  • Interface with cross functional teams such as plant operations, engineering, and suppliers
  • Communicating with Plant Managers to arrange downtime to complete maintenance activities
  • Reports daily on equipment downtime events exceeding 1 hour in duration.
  • Reports each week on outstanding and major upcoming maintenance events
  • Maintain spare parts inventory program at each Daniels location in conjunction with individual plant management & technicians to ensure plants are stocked effectively

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Production Engineering preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Hands on mechanical experience in mechanical assemblies and production equipment required
  • Hands on welding experience of repair work required
  • Electrical experience and ability to identify electrical issues, communicate fault conditions, and make repairs
  • Design, ability to design or plan modifications to mechanical and electrical systems to improve reliability or operability
  • PLC, ability to troubleshoot & modify PLC controlled machines, via remote connections & telephone support
  • Experience developing and maintaining a CMMS system program
  • Should have proper knowledge of computerized machines
  • Intermediate concept of machine language
  • Communication skill to coordinate with the technician team
  • Ability to find the fault or technical issues of machines
