The von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort, a renowned resort celebrated for its Austrian-inspired hospitality and breathtaking mountain views in Stowe, is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to lead all aspects of our people operations including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and engagement initiatives for our year-round and seasonal workforce.

Position Duties:

 • Oversee recruiting, job postings, interviewing, and new hire onboarding

 • Develop and manage staffing plans to meet seasonal and year-round needs

Coordinate all aspects of J-1 and H-2B international associates’ lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, housing, cultural integration, and offboarding.

 • Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and leave management

 • Manage workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA, and related compliance processes

 • Coordinate performance review process and support leadership with employee development initiatives

 • Maintain compliance with state and federal employment laws and resort policies

 • Provide employee relations support, handling sensitive/confidential matters with discretion

 • Support international employee onboarding, visa coordination, and housing logistics

 • Maintain HR records, assist with payroll data, and prepare reports as needed

 • Lead employee engagement and recognition programs to foster a positive workplace culture

Qualifications:
 

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 • Minimum 2 years of HR management or supervisory experience preferred

 • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills

 • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

 • Proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office (ADP experience preferred)

 • Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws, standards, and HR best practices

 • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred

Annual Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications

This is an on-site position located at our resort. Team members are expected to work on property and collaborate in person with colleagues. Please note that this role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
