Sr Electronics Test Technician

Canonsburg, PA

Pay Estimated: $29.46 - $32.96/Hour

Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance

 

 

We are hiring a Senior Electronics Test Technician in Canonsburg, PA, to support the testing, troubleshooting, repair, and validation of advanced electronic and electromechanical defense systems. This role requires experience with component-level diagnostics, analog and digital electronics, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power electronics, failure analysis, and electronic test equipment supporting mission-critical defense and laboratory environments.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform component-level troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics assemblies.
  • Analyze schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to isolate and resolve hardware faults.
  • Operate electronic diagnostic and test equipment, including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Spectrum analyzers
    • Logic analyzers
    • Signal generators
    • Digital multimeters
  • Apply electronics theory, including:
    • Ohm’s Law
    • Kirchhoff’s Laws
    • Transistor theory
    • Operational amplifiers (op-amps)
    • Digital logic
    • Power conversion principles
  • Identify failed or out-of-spec components, including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits (ICs), and power devices.
  • Conduct functional, verification, environmental, and performance testing to validate repairs and system operation.
  • Document root cause analysis, corrective actions, and repair activities within maintenance and quality tracking systems.
  • Support engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams with troubleshooting and technical test activities.
  • Assist in developing troubleshooting procedures, repair documentation, and test plans.
  • Fabricate simple hardware assemblies and support engineering modifications as required.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on electronics troubleshooting or electronic test experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Experience with analog electronics, including amplifiers, oscillators, filters, and power supplies.
  • Experience with digital electronics, including logic families, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces.
  • Understanding of power electronics, including linear and switching regulators and motor drives.
  • Proficiency using electronic test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer-based test systems and technical documentation tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work onsite in a laboratory or production environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
  • FCC 1st Class License.
  • Solder Repair Certification.
