Job Description : 

Under AHN Prehospital Care Services, Canonsburg Ambulance provides emergency and non-emergency care to Washington County, PA. We are seeking candidates interested in rural, community based EMS.

*multiple positions available

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the pre-hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the pre-hospital setting. (50%)

  • Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)

  • Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)

  • Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • For Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status

  • Medical Command eligible

  • PA certification as Paramedic or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PA PHRN

  • Valid Driver's License

  • EMSVO within 30 days of hire

  • ACLS within 30 days of hire

  • ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire

  • PALS within 30 days of hire

  • CPR – American Heart Association

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS

  • One year experience (AHN EMS)
