Yard Driver

The Yard Driver is responsible for safely moving equipment around the facility. Monitors trailer temperatures and performs routine yard checks throughout their shift. The primary function of this position is to move equipment around the facility while monitoring temperatures.

Essential Functions:

• Operate yard truck to move equipment around facility.
• Pre-cool trailers according to the guidelines set forth in the Domestic Transportation Manual.
• Perform periodic yard checks to ensure loads are maintained at proper temperatures at all times.
• Maintain a good driving record and comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations.
• Report any vehicle problems and defects to the Supervisor for immediate attention.
• Fills out all necessary paperwork to perform job duties.(Trailer Inspection Report)
• Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Excellent driving record

• 3 years over the road experience preferred

• Driving experience within the city

Education/Training:

Will train in Yard View system and monthly alchemy.
