Position Summary
Kiewit South Central is looking for an Equipment (Blade) Operator for the Southwest Valley Constructors in Study Butte, Texas.
Shift Information
- Pay rate up to $36/hr depending on experience.
- Shift schedule: 10 days on 4 days off
- Must be available to work day and night shift
- Additional overtime and weekends may be required.
Additional Details
- $70/day worked per diem is provided for travel exceeding 50 miles from the project site
- $75/day will be provided for travel allowance

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Operate a variety of vehicles and large heavy equipment while performing maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way including loading, hauling and dumping on smooth to extremely rough surfaces.
Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel. - Trench and construct ditches for installation of culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
- Knowledgeable of equipment in respect to checking and maintaining all fluid levels and lubrication.
- May be asked to instruct and train employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools and in job techniques and skills
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Obtain proper and complete documentation prior to moving materials.Â
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or fluids.Â
- Maintain logs of working hours, or of vehicle maintenance, following applicable state and federal regulations.Â
Work Environment
- The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlÂ
- Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions Â
- Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required Â
- May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds Â
- Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces Â
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment Â
- May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site Â
- Must have required tools Â
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required Â
- Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testingÂ
