Job Summary:

Midwest Plastic Engineering, Inc. is a custom injection molder serving several industries including automotive, telecommunications, HVAC and plumbing to name a few.  We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated induvidual for the following position in our Sturgis, MI Maintenance Department.

Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:

Responsible for maintaining and repairing injection molding machines and supporting equipment.

Schedule:
  • 1st shift - 7:30am - 4pm
  • 30 minute unpaid lunch break
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Capable of wiring electrical circuits
  • Good communication skills and able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Troubleshooting skills in PLCs, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Experience in injection molding preferred
  • Previous experience or education in industrial hydraulics and electricity up to 480V preferred
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair injection molding machines ranging from 75T to 850T
  • Maintain all supporting equipment: conveyors, grinders, pneumatic systems, water heaters, etc
  • Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints
  • Conduct preventative maintenance duties per documented schedules
  • Document all repairs and preventative maintenance activities to comply with ISO requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • All other duties as assigned
Compensation:
  • $24 to $34 per hour starting pay, dependent on qualifications & experience
