About the Role:
Midwest Plastic Engineering Inc is looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team in Sturgis, MI. This is your opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of excellence in the plastics manufacturing industry. Responsibilities:
  • Inspect finished plastic components and assemblies for defects, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with specifications
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
  • Document inspection results, non-conformances, and quality reports accurately
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of defects and support corrective actions
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality standards
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment in accordance with quality procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and ISO/quality management system compliance
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in quality inspection, preferably in plastics, injection molding, or manufacturing
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team collaboration
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification a plus
Job Details:
  • All new hires at Midwest Plastic are onboarded through our preferred staffing agency
  • Starting rate of pay $17.50, increases to $19.45 after completing probationary period with staffing agency
  • Work hours:  3:30pm to 12:00 am.  30 minute unpaid lunch.
