About the Role:

We are adding a General Foreman to lead field crews and support the day-to-day execution of construction activities on water and wastewater projects. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple crews, coordinating work in the field, and actively participating in construction efforts. The General Foreman plays a key role in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred 
  • Minimum of 4 years of construction experience 
  • At least 2 years of experience specializing in a trade 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in water or wastewater construction 
  • Experience leading multiple crews or work areas 
  • Strong background in mechanical installation or concrete work 
  • Familiarity with scheduling, planning, and coordinating field activities 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Frequent use of hands to handle tools and materials 
  • Ability to lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs or more 
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work at varying heights 
  • Ability to bend, squat, and perform repetitive physical tasks 
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise multiple crews across various scopes of work 
  • Perform hands-on construction work alongside crews 
  • Coordinate daily field operations and support project execution 
  • Lead mechanical installation of piping systems including PVC, copper, ductile iron, and steel 
  • Oversee installation of mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, gates, and clarifier systems 
  • Lead formwork, carpentry, and concrete placement activities 
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to guide field work 
  • Pre-plan work activities, including materials, equipment, and manpower needs 
  • Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and other trades 
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations 
  • Monitor productivity and help maintain project schedule
