The Security Officer ArmedĀ RecruitĀ role is a roleĀ designatedĀ for newly hired Security Officers while preparing for successful transition to an Armed Officer role.Ā Ā During the transition period ofĀ 120 daysĀ all training andĀ requiredĀ certifications will be completed to allow them to progress to an Armed Security Officer role.Ā Ā The primary function of this transitional role is to further develop the necessary skills, training, and certificationsĀ requiredĀ to carry a weapon and function as a fully Armed Security Officer.Ā Ā Ā Ā

An offer of employment for aĀ Security Officer ArmedĀ RecruitĀ isĀ contingent on passing the pre-employment screening process, which includes a fitness assessment and psychological evaluation. Once the preemployment process is cleared and employmentĀ hasĀ begun, incumbents will haveĀ 120 daysĀ to successfully complete and obtain other job specific certifications, as defined in the job profile. Failure to obtain these certifications within the prescribedĀ timeframeĀ will result in termination of employment. Annual fitnessĀ assessment isĀ required,Ā and psychological evaluations areĀ requiredĀ every 3 years as a condition of continued employment in this position.Ā
