Liberty Community Programs is a residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program dedicated to helping individuals build healthy, meaningful lives through evidence-based treatment, compassion, accountability, and recovery.

Position Summary

The Group Facilitator is responsible for planning and facilitating engaging, therapeutic psychoeducational and recovery-focused groups for adult residents in our ASAM Level 3.5 residential treatment program. This position plays an important role in creating a positive therapeutic environment while supporting residents in developing the skills needed for long-term recovery.

This position focuses on group facilitation and resident engagement and does not provide individual therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate scheduled psychoeducational and recovery groups.
  • Prepare lesson plans and group materials.
  • Encourage participation and maintain a safe, respectful group environment.
  • Complete group documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Monitor resident participation and communicate concerns to the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with counselors, case managers, nursing, and leadership.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and clinical team discussions.
  • Support a trauma-informed, person-centered treatment environment.
  • Assist with discharge planning, recovery resources, and vocational readiness activities as assigned.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or a related field:
    • Psychology
    • Social Work
    • Sociology
    • Human Services
    • Behavioral Science
    • Counseling
    • Criminal Justice
    • Addiction Studies
  • Strong communication and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient with documentation and basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

  • Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, residential treatment, or human services.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, CBT, or recovery-oriented practices.
