Job DetailsJob Location: Sugar Land, TX 77478Mako Industries is hiring a HVAC Chiller Service Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the service, maintenance, and repair operations of commercial and industrial chiller systems. This role manages service technicians, ensures high-quality customer service, coordinates scheduling, and maintains operational efficiency. The manager also supports business growth through client relationships, service contract management, and technical leadership. Team Leadership & Management Supervise, train, and mentor HVAC service technicians specializing in chiller systems. Schedule technicians and coordinate service calls, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing technical training. Ensure technicians follow safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations. Service Operations Oversee diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. Ensure timely completion of service work orders and preventive maintenance contracts. Monitor service quality and resolve technical issues escalated by field technicians. Maintain service documentation, reports, and equipment service histories. Customer Relations Serve as the primary contact for key service clients. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and timely communication. Assist with proposals, service agreements, and contract renewals. Address customer concerns and coordinate resolution. Technical Oversight Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related HVAC systems. Review service reports and ensure accurate diagnostics and repair recommendations. Assist with complex repairs, retrofits, and system optimization projects. Operational Management Manage service schedules, dispatching, and workload distribution. Monitor service KPIs such as response time, completion rates, and technician productivity. Coordinate parts procurement and inventory with the warehouse or purchasing team. Ensure compliance with safety standards, refrigerant regulations, and environmental requirements. Qualifications 7+ years of HVAC service experience, with strong experience in chiller systems. 2+ years of supervisory or management experience. Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and controls. EPA Universal Certification. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Experience with major chiller brands such as Trane, Carrier, York, and Daikin. Experience managing service contracts and maintenance programs. Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS). Associate or bachelor’s degree in HVAC technology, engineering, or related field.
