ABM is seeking a people-focused and execution-oriented IT Manager to lead a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering enterprise technology initiatives.Â
This role serves as the functional leader for project delivery talent within the PMO organization. The IT Manager is accountable for building a high-performing project management team, establishing consistent delivery practices, developing project management capabilities, and ensuring Project Managers are equipped to successfully execute technology initiatives across the enterprise.Â
The IT Manager directly manages Project Managers and is responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, career development, workforce planning, and delivery excellence across the team.Â
In ABM's operating model, Portfolio Managers own portfolio prioritization, executive governance, and investment decisions. Project Managers own end-to-end project execution. The IT Manager enables success by developing the people, processes, standards, and organizational capacity required to deliver consistently and effectively.Â

Pay: $110,000-$155,000
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’sÂ
education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.
Responsibilities
What You Will OwnÂ
Team Leadership & Talent DevelopmentÂ
•    Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers supporting enterprise technology initiativesÂ
•    Conduct performance management, career development, and succession planning activitiesÂ
•    Establish clear expectations, goals, and development plans for team membersÂ
•    Provide mentoring on project management practices, stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skillsÂ
•    Support employee engagement, retention, and professional growthÂ
•    Identify training and certification opportunities to strengthen team capabilitiesÂ
•    Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvementÂ
Project Management Practice LeadershipÂ
•    Establish and maintain project management standards, methodologies, templates, and best practicesÂ
•    Promote consistent execution across waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery approachesÂ
•    Ensure Project Managers effectively apply governance, risk management, and reporting standardsÂ
•    Drive adoption of delivery frameworks, tools, and project management processesÂ
•    Maintain quality standards for project documentation, status reporting, and governance artifactsÂ
•    Facilitate knowledge sharing and lessons learned across the project management communityÂ
Delivery Excellence & OversightÂ
•    Provide delivery leadership and coaching across active projectsÂ
•    Monitor project health, risks, resource constraints, and delivery trends across the teamÂ
•    Support Project Managers in resolving complex issues, stakeholder challenges, and escalationsÂ
•    Ensure projects maintain appropriate planning, execution, governance, and communication practicesÂ
•    Promote proactive risk identification and mitigation planningÂ
•    Partner with Project Managers to improve delivery predictability and outcomesÂ
Resource & Capacity ManagementÂ
•    Manage project management resource allocation and workforce planningÂ
•    Partner with Portfolio Managers and PMO leadership to align staffing with portfolio demandÂ
•    Assess team capacity and recommend hiring, contractor support, or resource reallocationsÂ
•    Balance workloads across Project Managers to ensure sustainable deliveryÂ
•    Develop succession and contingency plans for critical delivery rolesÂ
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional CollaborationÂ
•    Partner closely with Portfolio Managers, business leaders, technology teams, and vendorsÂ
•    Support organizational alignment across delivery teams and business stakeholdersÂ
•    Facilitate resolution of cross-project challenges and organizational roadblocksÂ
•    Help establish strong working relationships between Project Managers and key stakeholdersÂ
•    Represent project delivery capabilities and team needs within PMO leadership discussionsÂ
Continuous Improvement & Organizational MaturityÂ
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery performanceÂ
•    Analyze project metrics, delivery trends, and lessons learned to identify improvement opportunitiesÂ
•    Improve project management processes, reporting approaches, and team effectivenessÂ
•    Promote adoption of emerging project management practices, tools, and technologiesÂ
•    Support organizational readiness for digital transformation, AI, automation, analytics, and other strategic initiativesÂ

Qualifications
Experience & QualificationsÂ
RequiredÂ
•    7+ years of experience leading technology projects, programs, or PMO functionsÂ
•    3+ years of direct people leadership experienceÂ
•    Experience managing Project Managers or similar delivery-focused professionalsÂ
•    Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approachesÂ
•    Experience supporting enterprise technology implementations and digital transformation initiativesÂ
•    Demonstrated success coaching, mentoring, and developing professionalsÂ
•    Strong communication, stakeholder management, and conflict-resolution skillsÂ
•    Experience working in complex, matrixed organizationsÂ
PreferredÂ
•    Experience within enterprise PMO organizationsÂ
•    Experience partnering with portfolio management or governance functionsÂ
•    Exposure to AI, automation, analytics, ERP, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or digital transformation programsÂ
•    Experience establishing delivery standards and PMO practicesÂ
•    Experience with project portfolio management and resource planning toolsÂ
Certifications (Preferred)Â
