As an RDD Tech I, you will support laboratory operations by receiving, processing, tracking, and coordinating chemical samples to ensure accurate testing and efficient workflow management. You will work closely with laboratory personnel, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure samples are handled properly and all documentation requirements are met.

Fueling Your Passion

As an RDD Tech I, you will play a key role in supporting laboratory activities through sample receipt, documentation, tracking, and communication. You will leverage your organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities to ensure samples are correctly logged, labeled, tracked, and routed for testing. Working closely with laboratory teams, you will help maintain data accuracy, support customer communication, and ensure compliance with established procedures and quality standards.

As an RDD Tech I, you will be responsible for:

  • Receiving and securing incoming chemical samples in accordance with established procedures.

  • Logging and tracking samples using internal systems and documentation tools.

  • Reviewing shipment information and verifying samples against Analytical Sample Inventory (ASI) documentation.

  • Opening, inspecting, and labeling samples to ensure proper laboratory processing.

  • Coordinating notification of sample receipt with internal stakeholders and requestors.

  • Identifying discrepancies such as incorrect labeling, missing information, damaged samples, incorrect addresses, or location issues.

  • Communicating with customers, senders, and requestors to resolve sample and documentation discrepancies.

  • Maintaining accurate records using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Supporting laboratory personnel by ensuring samples are properly categorized and distributed for testing activities.

  • Following Baker Hughes HSE policies, quality standards, and laboratory procedures.

  • Maintaining an organized, safe, and professional work environment.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training.

  • Have previous experience in an industrial, laboratory, logistics, shipping/receiving, or administrative support environment preferred.

  • Have basic analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Have strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documentation and sample information.

  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Have proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Have experience handling documentation, inventory tracking, or sample management processes preferred.
