About IES Holdings
IES Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: IESC) is a national leader in designing and installing integrated electrical and technology systems across data centers, residential housing, commercial, and industrial facilities. With more than 11,000 employees operating through four business segments — Residential, Commercial & Industrial, Communications, and Infrastructure Solutions — IES delivers critical systems that power the built environment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
The Opportunity
IES is seeking a Senior Vice President of Enterprise Technology to lead the company through a critical phase of technology transformation. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving the successful implementation of a new ERP platform (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and a new HRIS platform (ADP Lyric) across IES's corporate and divisional operations, while building on the company's existing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise software capabilities.
The SVP of Enterprise Technology will report directly to the President & CEO and serve as the enterprise technology leader responsible for corporate systems, infrastructure, and enterprise applications. This role operates alongside IES's Chief Technical Officer, who oversees technology strategy within the business units; the SVP of Enterprise Technology focuses on corporate platforms, shared infrastructure, and cross-cutting systems initiatives. This position is being added to give two concurrent enterprise implementations the dedicated senior leadership and day-to-day capacity they require, alongside IES's existing technology leadership. This role is ideal for an operationally minded executive who has led enterprise-wide systems implementations in multi-site, decentralized organizations and who thrives in lean corporate environments where rolling up your sleeves is the norm.
Key Responsibilities
ERP & Systems Transformation
- Oversee the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 across IES's corporate functions and business units, including finance, supply chain, project management, and field operations.
- Oversee the concurrent ADP Lyric HRIS implementation, ensuring integration with payroll, benefits administration, and workforce planning systems.
- Develop and execute an implementation roadmap, managing scope, timeline, budget, and change management across multiple stakeholders.
- Coordinate with divisional leadership and BU presidents to drive adoption and minimize disruption to operations.
- Architect and oversee system integration between Dynamics 365, ADP Lyric, and existing divisional applications to ensure data integrity and operational continuity.
- Manage relationships with implementation partners, system integrators, and software vendors, including contract oversight and delivery accountability.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Provide executive oversight for systems reliability, scalability, and security across corporate headquarters and distributed BU locations, supporting the teams accountable for these areas today.
- Own and manage the enterprise technology budget, ensuring disciplined allocation of resources across operations, transformation initiatives, and infrastructure investments.
- Define the enterprise reporting and business intelligence strategy, ensuring leadership has timely access to operational and financial data across business units.
Internal Tools & Programming
- Provide executive support to the internal programming team that builds and maintains the custom tools supporting IES's operations.
- Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI and automation tools to improve operational efficiency across the enterprise.
- Partner with the internal programming team on build-vs-buy decisions as the Dynamics 365 platform's capabilities come online, determining where custom tools remain the better answer.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and support the established and experienced technology team, providing strategic direction and executive support to existing VP-level direct reports.
- Represent the technology organization at the executive leadership table and in board-level discussions, ensuring the work, priorities, and resource needs of IES's technology teams are visible at the most senior levels of the company.
- Build productive working relationships with BU presidents and divisional IT.
Specific Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a VP-level role.
- Operational background with P&L or profit center management experience — not purely a technology executive.
- Demonstrated success leading a large-scale ERP implementation (Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred; SAP or Oracle considered).
- Experience in multi-site, multi-business-unit, or decentralized operating environments.
- Familiarity with construction industry workflows including project-based accounting, job costing, and field operations technology.
- Ability to work on-site at IES's Houston, TX headquarters full-time.
Preferred
- Experience providing executive oversight of an enterprise security program at similar scale.
- Experience in the engineering & construction, electrical services, or building infrastructure sectors.
- Experience with HRIS implementations (ADP Lyric or ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred; Workday, UKG, or similar platforms also considered).
- Knowledge of AI/ML tools and their practical application in enterprise operations.
- Track record of managing technology through a period of rapid company growth or M&A integration.
- PMP, ITIL, or Microsoft Dynamics certifications.
