Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Assistant to join our dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent interpersonal skills, and a thorough understanding of dermatologic procedures. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth clinical operations and supporting physicians.Ā 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist providers during medical and cosmetic procedures (e.g., biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, laser treatments, and injectables)
  • Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies
  • Obtain and document patient history, vitals, and reason for visit
  • Administer medications and perform procedures as directed by the physician
  • Scribe for providers during patient visits (as needed)
  • Ensure accurate and timely charting in EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards
  • Monitor workflow and assist with optimizing efficiency in patient care
  • Coordinate patient care, including follow-up appointments, referrals, and prescription refills
  • Maintain clinical inventory and order medical supplies
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines


Requirements

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Certified Medical Assistant or Registered medical Assistant strongly preferredĀ 
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in dermatology or similar outpatient clinical settingĀ 
  • Proficiency in dermatologic terminology and common proceduresĀ 
  • Strong EMR experience; experience in ModMed/EMA strongly preferredĀ 
  • Currently BLS/CPR/AED certificationĀ 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skillsĀ 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times
