Reports To: Parts Manager / Parts Director

Schedule: Full-Time

M-F (8:00AM - 5PM)


Summary: The Parts Counter person assists customers and service technicians by selling, sourcing, and providing automotive parts over the counter, through the service department, and via phone inquiries. This role supports inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards.


Essential Duties:

  • Assist retail and internal service customers in selecting and purchasing required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide price quotes, availability information, and product details.
  • Notify the Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts, materials, or inventory concerns requiring immediate attention.
  • Notify service advisors and customers when special-order parts have been received and are ready for installation or pickup.
  • Replenish assigned inventory and maintain accurate stock levels daily.
  • Prepare and process orders for shipment, delivery, or customer pickup.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of front and back counter areas.
  • Participate in all required and optional training programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, appearance, and communication style.
  • Remain compliant with all required company HR training.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in basic math skills.
  • Capable of speaking with customers and employees; reading/understanding manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety regulations; and writing reports and other correspondence.
