Position Summary
The Combination Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of the Company's telecommunications network and customer services. This position supports residential and business customers by providing telephone, internet, video, wireless, DSL, and fiber (FTTH) services while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with Company and industry standards. Combination Technicians play a vital role in maintaining reliable network performance and promoting a positive customer experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, disconnect, and modify residential and business telephone, internet, video, wireless, DSL, FTTH, ISDN, and related communication services.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot customer premise equipment, key systems, business carrier systems, voice frequency repeaters, and associated telecommunications equipment.
- Perform service calls, respond to customer trouble reports, and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and testing instruments to identify service issues, determine corrective actions, and perform cable pair changes as needed.
- Install and maintain grounding and surge protection equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on outside plant facilities and complete minor central office repairs when required.
- Conduct FCC-required signal leakage testing and maintain required documentation.
- Complete all assigned work orders, service tickets, and documentation accurately and timely within Company systems.
- Maintain Company-issued vehicles, tools, equipment, and testing devices in safe working condition.
- Prepare staking sheets, sketches, measurements, and other field documentation as assigned.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable industry standards, including FCC, RUS, NEC, and Company procedures.
- Protect customer information by complying with all Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) requirements.
- Promote Company products, services, and initiatives while providing outstanding customer service.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure customer needs are met.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
 Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of telecommunications installation, maintenance, and repair practices.
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic circuitry.
- Familiarity with FCC regulations and telecommunications industry standards.
- Ability to diagnose technical issues using testing equipment and appropriate troubleshooting methods.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Company software applications.
- Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and processes.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with Company CPNI policies.
- Ability to work an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service calls as needed.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position. Work schedules vary based on operational and customer service needs and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call assignments, and emergency response. Schedule changes may occur at management's discretion to meet business requirements.
