We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to service rental equipment, (small tools/Equipment) to join our clients team in Sulphur, LA for direct hire needs. As a Field Service Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of engine-driven equipment, such as welding machines, generators, light towers, air compressors, and more.

The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

Essential Duties:

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small engine equipment in the field.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes and filter replacements.
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and prevent future issues.
Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
Keep accurate records of all service and repair activities.
Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance needs.
Provide cost estimates for repairs promptly and submit them to sales for customer approval.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Other duties as assigned.

Salary:

· $22.00- 28.00 per hour

Expected Hours & Schedule

40 hours per week

8-hour days – Monday through Friday

Rotating on-call shift - nights and weekends

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in small engine repair is a plus.
Proven experience as a small engine mechanic or similar role.
Strong knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
Familiarity with various small engine equipment brands and models.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Physical stamina and dexterity to handle the demands of the job.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to always pass a drug test and MVR
Must be able to obtain site-specific safety requirements – i.e. safety counsel classes and on-site classes.
