JOB PURPOSE |
The Entry-Level Polishing Technician learns to hand- and machine-polish feed ramps and chambers on gun barrels within a high-volume firearms manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, trainable role: no prior manufacturing experience is required. We provide full, paid on-the-job training covering our polishing techniques, quality standards, and equipment. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable using basic hand and rotary tools, and eager to build a skilled trade.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |

Polishing & Surface Finishing
- Learn to polish feed ramps and chamber interiors on pistol barrels using hand tools, rotary tools, and polishing equipment.
- Work toward meeting surface finish requirements (visual standards) on processed components, with guidance from experienced technicians.
- Use polishing compounds, stones, wheels, and abrasive media as directed.
- Polish to match approved reference samples under supervisor guidance.
Quality & Inspection
- Perform basic visual inspection of polished surfaces under proper lighting.
- Flag parts that do not look right and bring them to a supervisor; complete simple checklists/documentation.
Equipment & Tools
- Operate basic hand tools, Drill Press, and rotary tools (e.g., Dremel-style tools) after training.
- Learn to set up and run polishing machines and bench grinders under supervision.
- Swap out polishing media and wheels as instructed.
- Keep your tools and workstation clean and organized; report any equipment issues right away.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and ATF compliance requirements (training provided)
- Wear required PPE at all times: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection as needed.
- Keep a clean, organized work area and follow 5S standards.
QUALIFICATIONS |
- High school diploma or GED
- No prior manufacturing experience required — we provide paid training.
- Comfortable with basic tool handling (hand tools, simple rotary, or power tools) from school, hobby, or work experience
- Able to read and follow step-by-step work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to maintain consistent quality.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) per ITAR requirements.
- Must pass a background check per federal firearms regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS |
This position operates in a manufacturing facility with moderate noise, metal dust, and exposure to lubricants and polishing compounds. All required PPE is provided. The facility is ATF-licensed and subject to periodic compliance inspections. Employees must understand and comply with all federals, state, and company regulations governing the manufacture of firearms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
- Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for hands-on polishing work
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. regularly.
- Visual acuity sufficient for detailed inspection of small-bore surfaces
- Tolerance for moderate to high noise levels in a manufacturing environment
