Job SummaryÂ
The Marketing Manager executes DSI's day-to-day communications strategy and manages the organization's volunteer recruitment function. This role is responsible for maintaining a consistent, compelling, and mission-aligned presence across DSI's digital and print channels, producing content that tells DSI's story effectively to members, donors, partners, and the broader community. The Marketing Manager also serves as the primary point of contact for volunteer recruitment organization-wide — building and managing the pipeline of volunteers that both centers depend on — while individual departments retain responsibility for day-to-day volunteer scheduling and deployment within their areas.Â

- Conduct informational conversations with prospective volunteers, manage the application and onboarding process, and ensure volunteers are properly oriented before placementÂ
- Maintain accurate volunteer records including contact information, skills, availability, background check status, and hours contributedÂ
- Coordinate volunteer placement logistics with individual departments, matching volunteer skills and availability to departmental needs — departments retain responsibility for day-to-day volunteer scheduling and deployment within their areasÂ
- Develop and maintain volunteer onboarding materials, orientation resources, and recognition content in coordination with the Director of Communications & DevelopmentÂ
- Monitor volunteer program metrics — active volunteer count, hours contributed, recruitment pipeline, and retention — and report to the Director of Communications & Development on a regular scheduleÂ
