Shipping Forklift Operator

Gerber Childrenswear LLC is in Summerville, S.C is currently seeking equipment operators to join our team. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Operator safely and efficiently operates Cherry Pickers and Reach Operators.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Obtain copy of load sheets or shipping order and transport pallets to and from designated areas in the facility.
• Operate a forklift to load/unload Freight safely and effectively.
• Stacking goods in the correct storage area.
• Checking to make sure loads are secure.
• Stacking empty pallets.
• Performing daily equipment checklist
• Ensure orders are correct product and count
• Ensure each pallet is secure for transit and labelled correctly
• Consolidates rows and pallets for staging and shipping.
   
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL/VISUAL ACTIVITIES OR DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, walk, lift, carry, reach, push, pull, and be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Attention to detail.
• Good communication
• Able to safely operate equipment in unique situations.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma and 1-year experience as an equipment operator.
