Description

Atlas Companies is currently hiring an Accounting Manager to join our team based in Bedford Park, Illinois. This role will be responsible for overseeing the final stages of the sales order lifecycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, financial reconciliation, and timely reporting. This in-office position is ideal for a current supervisor seeking to advance to the next stage of their career. 


Atlas Companies consists of four different companies: Atlas Bobcat, Atlas Toyota Material Handling, Atlas Badger ToyotaLift, and Atlas First Access. We are an authorized Toyota Forklift Dealer and Bobcat Dealer while also providing a variety of material handling and warehouse solutions for companies of all sizes.


Key Responsibilities: 


Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop associates within the Illinois sales coordination team. 
  • Assign workloads to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Drive consistency and adherence to internal processes and controls. 

Invoicing & Vendor Management

  • Oversee the timely and accurate billing of all sales orders and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Ensure vendor invoices are properly matched with purchase receipts to prevent invoicing delays.
  • Collaborate with vendors to streamline communication and accelerate invoice processing.
  • Conduct and manage gross profit audits, including direct responsibility for the Illinois branch and oversight for the Minnesota and Wisconsin branches. 

Leasing Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all leasing-related matters.
  • Review and approve lease documentation to ensure completeness prior to equipment delivery.
  • Monitor and actively manage outstanding leases through the funding process.
  • Communicate with other departments to resolve leasing issues efficiently. 

Reporting & Commissions

  • Review, edit, and finalize commission reports, ensuring adherence to accounting deadlines.
  • Manage the tracking and compilation of the quarterly and annual commission plans.
  • Ensure timely reporting of delivered equipment impacting our floor plan.
  • Support accurate financial reporting through detailed analysis and reconciliation.

Systems & Process Development

  • Partner with systems team to enhance WIP tracking and improve cost-to-billing alignment.
  • Monitor and track balances related to racking inventory.
  • Reconcile customer deposits and review equipment orders for the floor cleaning, used equipment, and systems teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.

Requirements

What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of order-to-cash processes, invoicing, and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with leasing processes and commission structures preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
