Why this job matters

Create the treats everyone talks about! Assist in preparing and decorating pastries, cakes, desserts and fresh baked goods while supporting banquet production and helping deliver exceptional hospitality with every bite.

What you bring to the table

  • Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • Prepare various breads, pies, cakes, desserts and other pastries according to the house requirements and recipes.
  • Check the production schedule to determine the variety and quantity of goods to be baked.
  • Makes sure the bakery is clean and sanitized.
  • Distribute baked goods according to orders received.
  • Assist with cupcake and cake decorating.
  • Assist with dessert plating for our outlets and banquet needs.
  • Maintains par levels of cake and dessert stocks.
  • Able to be self-sufficient and productive when working alone.
  • Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

Must-haves, nice-to-haves, and maybe some bonus points

  • Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.
  • Must obtain a current Food Handler's card.
  • At least one year of experience in all phases of baking.
  • Experience in cake decoration is a plus.
  • General commercial kitchen knowledge required.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.

In this role, you'll be required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. It's important to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure, especially when dealing with stressful situations or upset people.
