Overview:
A Project Finance Controller in manufacturing ensures financial performance, cost control, compliance, and profitability across specific manufacturing projects—from budgeting and forecasting to financial reporting and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Develop detailed project budgets and financial forecasts aligned with manufacturing timelines.
- Monitor actual spend versus budget, analyzing variances and implementing corrective measures.
2. Cost & Expense Management
- Track direct and indirect manufacturing costs including materials, labor, overhead and CAPEX.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities across the project lifecycle.
3. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare periodic (weekly/monthly/quarterly) financial reports covering P&L, cash flow, forecasts, and variance commentary.
- Provide management and project teams with actionable insights for decision-making.
4. Cost Control & Internal Audit
- Develop measures to audit spending and documentation on project costs and audit post-execution performance on project financial results
5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Provide cash flow forecast and accounts payable information to manage working capital.
6. Risk & Performance Monitoring
- Identify operational and financial risks; implement mitigation strategies.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with project managers, production supervisors, procurement, finance teams, and external auditors.
- Advise project manager on corrective actions when costs or schedules deviate.
8. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial laws, corporate governance standards, and project-specific regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 5+ years in manufacturing finance, project or cost accounting; supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, ERP systems, and Excel; experience with project control tools a plus.
- Preference with Project Management principles knowledge
- SAP experience in FI, CO, MM modules (desirable)
