Position Description: Provides personnel suitability determination and vetting support for ARCENT organizations. Reviews personnel records, coordinates background investigations, processes onboarding and access requests, and evaluates suitability documentation in accordance with federal regulations and Army policies. Maintains personnel security databases, monitors investigation status, and prepares reports supporting workforce management initiatives. Coordinates with human resources, security offices, and investigative agencies to ensure personnel meet established suitability standards.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The Personnel Security and Suitability Specialist shall:

  • Provide personnel suitability, onboarding, and vetting support for ARCENT headquarters and supported organizations.
  • Review, process, and evaluate personnel records, suitability packages, and background investigation documentation to ensure compliance with federal regulations and Army policies.
  • Coordinate personnel security screenings, background investigations, fingerprint submissions, and suitability determinations for military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Process onboarding packages, access requests, credentialing requirements, and personnel actions in support of workforce management objectives.
  • Maintain personnel security and suitability databases, records, and tracking systems to ensure data accuracy and accountability.
  • Monitor the status of personnel investigations, adjudications, and suitability actions and provide timely updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with human resources offices, security managers, investigative agencies, and hiring officials to facilitate efficient personnel processing.
  • Verify personnel eligibility for employment, assignment, access, and support requirements in accordance with established standards and regulations.
  • Prepare reports, metrics, status updates, and decision-support products related to personnel suitability, security processing, and workforce readiness.
  • Identify processing delays, compliance issues, and personnel risks and recommend corrective actions to leadership.
  • Support personnel accountability, workforce readiness, and manpower management initiatives through accurate personnel data management.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance reviews involving personnel security and suitability programs.
  • Ensure proper handling and protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), personnel records, and sensitive information.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, documentation, and tracking mechanisms supporting personnel suitability and vetting activities.
  • Provide guidance to personnel and management regarding suitability requirements, onboarding procedures, and investigation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Army, Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and ARCENT personnel security regulations and policies.
  • Maintain an active Secret security clearance and comply with all security requirements associated with the position.
  • Perform additional personnel security and suitability duties as directed by ARCENT leadership.
