Electrical Quality Assurance Technician II

Position Summary:
The Electrical Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for testing and ensuring that all components are assembled correctly and tested as intended before packing and shipping. This position plays a key role as the last step of the production pipeline, therefore the last one to confirm the quality and reliability of product. Other responsibilities of a Electrical Quality Assurance Technician include reading CAD drawings, diagrams, and schematics, calibrating instruments for the departments, assisting in training, assisting other departments with questions, and willingness to travel when the need arises. The Electrical Quality Assurance Technician is the last set of hands to touch the product before it is sent to the customer.聽
Key Responsibilities:
路聽 聽 聽 聽Read and interpret various drawings including electrical schematics, interface drawings and CAD drawings
路聽 聽 聽 聽Read test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used
路聽 聽 聽 聽Read dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, current, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance
路聽 聽 聽 聽Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity
路聽 聽 聽 聽Test low voltage equipment such as 450VAC, 3 Phase, 3 Wire 60Hz motor controllers, electrical switchgear, control panels, etc.
路聽 聽 聽 聽Compare results with specifications and records test data
路聽 聽 聽 聽Analyze test results on defective units to determine cause of failure
路聽 聽 聽 聽Assist with training junior Quality Assurance Techs
路聽 聽 聽 聽Assist production staff with problems and questions during Assembly and Wiring of equipment
路聽 聽 聽 聽Use schematics to troubleshoot and fix a wide range of control circuits
路聽 聽 聽 聽Work quickly and accurately with a team to accomplish testing and troubleshooting tasks
路聽 聽 聽 聽Follow quality assurance procedures in place to ensure all product discrepancies are resolved prior to product shipment and equipment testing is properly documented
路聽 聽 聽 聽Assess control circuits for safety, accuracy and efficiency
路聽 聽 聽 聽Calibrate test instruments according to specifications
路聽 聽 聽 聽Connect units to be tested to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, or spectrum analyzer
路聽 聽 聽 聽Replace defective wiring and components or record defects on tag attached to unit and return unit to production department for repair
路聽 聽 聽 聽Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and resolving problems
路聽 聽 聽 聽Devise test equipment set up to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard, or customer returned units

Required Qualifications:
路聽 聽 聽 聽High School diploma or GED
路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to read and interpret various drawings including electrical schematics, interface drawings and CAD drawings
聽-聽 聽 聽 Previous experience in electrical testing
路聽 聽 聽 聽Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
路聽 聽 聽 聽Familiarity with ISO Quality Management System
路聽 聽 聽 聽Experience with PLCs including PLC programming
路聽 聽 聽 聽Electrical switchgear or switchboard troubleshooting experience
路聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to occasionally travel to modify and/or troubleshooting equipment in the field is required
聽
Preferred Qualifications:
路聽 聽 聽 聽Forklift Certified
Essential Physical Job Functions:
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access material when needed
- Capable of handling repetitive motions such as grasping, lifting, and pulling items
- Able to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment when needed
- Ability to work in various warehouse environments, including hot, cold, or noisy conditions
- Sufficient vision and hearing to safely operate equipment and perform job duties
