Schedule subject to change.  To schedule and manage the use and operation of assigned multi-use. Recreation complexes to ensure that the assigned complexes are well maintained and safe for residents and their guests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities.) Prepares budget recommendations for assigned area of responsibility. Administers and monitors budget expenditures for assigned area. Interviews and selects staff for assigned area; provide or coordinate staff training; conducts annual performance evaluations; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff responsible for maintaining and operating the assigned multi-use facility. Maintain equipment listing for assigned equipment. Ensures equipment preventative maintenance is performed and records maintained. Prepare and monitor all work requests for building and equipment maintenance. Prepare bi-weekly reports on operations and activities. Monitor compliance with all safety and cleanliness standards, ensure that all Recreation Centers employees, perform work in a safe manner following equipment guidelines, safety policies and procedures. Trains staff on computer swipe card system. Performs routine and security checks of buildings, vehicles, and facilities. Reports any deficiencies or needed changes to the Facilities Operations Manager and/or maintenance department as needed. Works with the Safety Coordinator to ensure safety policies are being followed and monthly safety evaluations are completed and submitted timely. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include weekend work, holidays, and in some cases schedule changes on short notice. Provides responses to complaints escalated by front line managers that may be highly energized and/or emotionally taxing. As necessary, elevating issues to either the FOM or Human Resources Officer. Ensures direct reports and staff are proactively completing assigned daily work assignments and that facilities are properly equipped, cleaned, well maintained and safe for usage by community members. As necessary, coordinates, delegates, and follows up on work of assigned staff and sets work priorities where deficiencies are noted. Aligns space utilization with scheduling and events departments. As needed, works with the Recreation Manager to resolve any space utilization conflicts. Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay current of new trends and innovations in the field of recreation facility management and operations. Works with the Recreation Manager to address any club activities or issues of concern that are brought forward. Maintains a regular and consistent record of acceptable onsite attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.  CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and good driving record insurance purposes.  SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES This position supervises and directs all assigned staff daily. Supervisory responsibilities include planning, directing, interviewing, training, employee discipline, payroll processing, and performance evaluations.  QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Sufficient Training and education to demonstrate possession of required knowledge, skills and qualifications are required.   High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Four years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience. Read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office and facility setting with moderate to loud levels of noise. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The following are representative illustrations of requirements-sitting or standing for extended periods of time primarily in an office setting but at times in offsite locations to and from their assigned work area. Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects and tools to include computers and office equipment. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.  WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate or louder depending on the venue.
