Procurement & Inventory Analyst

Fresh Roasted Coffee is a growing specialty coffee and tea manufacturing company located in Sunbury, PA. We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Procurement & Inventory Analyst to help ensure we have the materials and supplies needed to keep production running efficiently.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with data, and able to build strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.

What You'll Do

Inventory & Material Planning

  • Monitor inventory levels for packaging materials, ingredients, supplies, and other production-related items.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Analyze historical usage, production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory levels to project future material needs.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reorder points, safety stock levels, and inventory targets.
  • Identify potential shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete materials before they impact operations.
  • Communicate projected material needs to the appropriate purchasing personnel and management.
  • Partner with Production, Warehouse, Operations, and Sales to understand upcoming material requirements.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including lead times, quality, pricing, and on-time delivery.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, freight, and other commercial terms when appropriate.
  • Request and compare vendor quotes and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Follow up with vendors regarding delayed, incomplete, or incorrect orders.
  • Work with vendors to resolve service, quality, delivery, and pricing issues.

Procurement Coordination

  • Translate projected material needs into purchasing requirements.
  • Prepare purchasing recommendations based on inventory levels, forecasts, usage, lead times, and production schedules.
  • Review open purchase orders and expected delivery dates to ensure materials arrive when needed.
  • Coordinate with purchasing personnel to ensure orders are placed according to established requirements.
  • Help maintain accurate vendor, item, pricing, and lead-time information in company systems.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain and analyze inventory and purchasing reports.
  • Track inventory turns, days on hand, supplier performance, material costs, and shortages.
  • Analyze purchasing and usage trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved inventory management.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to management.
  • Develop or improve processes that increase inventory accuracy and supply-chain efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, procurement, purchasing, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Ability to analyze trends and translate data into practical recommendations.
  • Strong communication and vendor relationship-management skills.
  • Comfortable negotiating pricing, terms, and service expectations.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
  • Experience with an ERP, inventory management, or purchasing system is preferred.
