Description
As a laser specialist, you will be responsible for working both independently and collaboratively on assignments across a broad spectrum of processes (e.g. cutting, welding, marking). The ADL exists to provide the highest quality prototypes available to our engineering partners, so quality and attention to detail are fundamental. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of laser technology and part making and works well as part of a close-knit team. Minimum Qualifications
Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills Self-driven to continue learning, and passionate about laser technology Experience with process development of one or more of the following: laser welding, ablation, marking, and cutting Experience working independently on new assignments - including setting up, operating, and programming a CNC machine in a 3D CAD/CAM environment Ability to program complex 3D parts Experience holding close tolerances and validating critical features and dimensions using hand metrology equipment
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of Prototype manufacturing experience in a fast paced, quality focused environment Familiarity with lasers, up to/including Ultrafast(Femtosecond) systems Journeyman level machine operation and setup in a prototyping environment - multiple disciplines of manufacturing experience desirable Programming experience with general part geometries as well as free form shapes Knowledge of Machine code Experience using horizontal and vertical saws, manual mills and lathes Ability to apply and advise on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances Experience reading, interpreting and applying detailed part drawing requirements
