Minimum qualifications:

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, especially UNIX or LINUX.
  • Subject matter expert in In-Circuit Test (ICT) program and fixture development using Keysight i3070, Teradyne, TRI, or equivalent; JTAG boundary scan testing using x1149, Asset InterTech, Corelis, or equivalent.
  • Design for Testability (DFT) analysis, driving improvement closures to maximize test coverage and stability using TestSight, Test Expert, TestWay, or equivalent tools.
  • Develop ICT and JTAG boundary scan test strategies with comprehensive power, thermal, and mechanical feature requirements; managing site deployment, bring-up, buy-off, and SME technical support.

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver physical infrastructure.

As a Manufacturing Structural Test Development Engineer, you will evaluate the product designs and create the manufacturing test processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you will be right there alongside ensuring manufacturing test processes are repeatable and controlled. You will collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work will ensure the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive process design, optimization, and qualification activities of a manufacturing process for a component, part, or product. 
  • Apply Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) fundamentals and collaborate with teams to help them understand and apply RCCA tools and principles and analyze/understand failure to resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement the manufacturing structural test strategy for new products, and work with CM/ODM partners to ensure that structural test solutions meet product requirements.
  • Lead and oversee the contract Manufacturer/original device manufacturer (CM/ODM) structural test development and deployment for flying probe, boundary scan, and in-circuit testing. 
  • Review structural test fixture strain gauge and gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) performance for fixture qualification, and analyze test plan stability and coverage to meet Google expectations.
