Responsibilities
- Developing hardware systems for VR, AR and New Technology Initiatives.
- Exploring and developing concepts through prototyping and into mass-production consumer electronics.
- Working as part of a cross functional team and collaborating in domains other than mechanical engineering.
- Contributing to mechanical solutions.
- Modeling, building, testing and refining prototypes and characterization test systems.
- Working across the full product development cycle from concept inception to shipping product.
- Collaborating and managing work with Asia-based supply chain.
- Push state of the art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems.
- Requires 20% domestic and international travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a product-design engineer-related occupation
- Position requires 3 years of experience in the following:
- Mechanical engineering fundamentals such as prototyping skills, CAD and manufacturing process knowledge
- Thermal Design, Design for Reliability and Failure Analysis
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Statistical tolerance analysis techniques
- Functional dimensioning
- GD&T and 3D or 2D CAD
- Testing and analysis such as FEA, Simulation or Design of Experiments
- High volume manufacturing techniques such as stamping, machining, 3D printing or injection molding
