Role summary:As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment, while integrating advanced AI/ML capabilities to enhance platform intelligence. About the team:
The Streaming Platform team powers Walmart’s real-time data infrastructure by delivering fully managed services such as Spark Streaming, Kafka Connect, and Flink. Supporting hundreds of engineering teams and tens of thousands of pipelines, the team builds and operates resilient, Kubernetes-based cloud services. Focused on innovation, the team is advancing toward an AI-driven platform that enables self-managing streaming infrastructure at scale. Members collaborate to design, develop, and maintain scalable solutions, ensuring high performance and reliability while driving continuous improvement and technical excellence across the platform.
What you'll do:
- Own delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
- Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to enhance software intelligence and development efficiency.
- Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and define success metrics.
- Monitor application performance, support defect management, and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
- Experience delivering scoped features or models through collaborative engineering teams.
- Strong technical acumen in software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated testing, and debugging.
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with platform objectives.
- Proficiency in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
- Skilled in code review, continuous development, and DevOps practices including Kubernetes.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
