Role summary:
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions using multiple programming languages and AI/ML integrations. The position requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and effective communication with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable solutions. The engineer will also support DevOps practices, code quality, and mentorship, driving innovation and operational excellence within a dynamic and evolving technology environment.
About the team:
The Walmart Fulfillment Engine (WFE) team supports a seamless customer experience by delivering accurate fulfillment options across Walmart’s extensive product range, including groceries, entertainment, sporting goods, and crafts. This team develops and maintains applications that determine optimal delivery dates and shipping or pickup choices. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, WFE focuses on scalable, reliable solutions that enhance customer satisfaction. The team embraces continuous improvement, leveraging advanced technologies and best practices to ensure high-quality software delivery aligned with Walmart’s platform and business goals.
What you'll do:
  • Own delivery of scoped features and components through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency.
  • Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and apply best practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor application performance, support defect management, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Mentor peers, promote continuous improvement, and contribute to engineering excellence and innovation.
