As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the full development lifecycle. You will design, implement, and maintain high-quality code while integrating advanced AI and machine learning components to enhance platform capabilities. This role demands strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving to meet business objectives. You will also mentor peers, contribute to innovation, and ensure alignment with Walmart’s standards, driving excellence in software development and operational performance.
About the team:
The Walmart Fulfillment Engine (WFE) team delivers precise fulfillment options across Walmart’s broad product range, including groceries and entertainment. This team develops and maintains applications that optimize delivery dates and shipping or pickup choices. Collaborating with cross-functional partners, WFE focuses on scalable, reliable solutions that enhance customer experience. The team embraces continuous improvement by leveraging advanced technologies and best practices to ensure high-quality software aligned with Walmart’s platform and business goals. Members apply strong technical skills and a product-driven mindset to deliver impactful, efficient, and innovative solutions.
What you'll do:
  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaboration with engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using multiple programming languages and drive full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency.
  • Assist in solution design, conduct code reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with platform objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and define success metrics.
  • Monitor application performance, support defect management, and promote continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
