Welding Supervisor

Description

We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead daily operations in our welding and fabrication department. This role is ideal for a transformational leader with a background in make-to-order and engineer-to-order manufacturing environments. The Welding Supervisor is a hands on welding position and will drive safety, quality, and efficiency while fostering a collaborative and engaged team culture by working side by side the team. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise and mentor welders and fabrication staff.
• Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Support employee growth through training, skill development, and performance-based feedback.

Production & Scheduling

• Plan and schedule welding production to meet delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with purchasing to ensure material availability.
• Communicate production issues and delays to internal teams and branches.

Quality & Safety

• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Implement corrective actions from customer feedback and quality audits.
• Maintain high standards in welding quality and consistency.

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

• Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Engage the team in problem-solving and process optimization.
• Monitor plant metrics and adjust workflows to enhance performance.

Technical Oversight

• Evaluate and schedule both stock and custom gate orders.
• Ensure equipment reliability through preventative maintenance planning 

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of welding experience
• Proven experience in welding supervision or manufacturing leadership.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production schedules.
• Excellent communication and team-building skills.
