As a Rest Area Technician with the Oregon Travel Information Council (TIC),Ā you’llĀ help travelers,Ā maintainĀ essential facilities, and play a vital role in public safety. This fill-in position offers flexible scheduling, you work as needed, including weekends and holidays. Perfect for extra hours or flexible work!Ā 

WhatĀ You’llĀ Do:Ā 

  • Maintain restrooms, buildings, and grounds clean and safeĀ 

  • Conduct security checks to ensure visitor safetyĀ 

  • Perform minor repairs and general maintenanceĀ 

  • Keep walkways, roadways, and parking areas clearĀ 

WhatĀ We’reĀ Looking For:Ā 

  • Works well independently and with othersĀ 

  • Friendly, approachable, and able toĀ assistĀ the public, law enforcement, and staffĀ 

  • Experience (or ability) in janitorial tasks, basic repairs, and groundskeepingĀ 

  • Reliable, follows instructions, and completes tasks accuratelyĀ 

Working Conditions:Ā 

  • Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsĀ 

  • Frequent interaction with the public, often working aloneĀ 

  • May be exposed to hazards, allergens, and waste cleanupĀ 

  • Must be able toĀ lift upĀ to 50Ā lbsĀ and perform physical tasks like bending, climbing, and reachingĀ
