Job Title: Activity Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Activity Director to plan, organize, and lead engaging programs that promote creativity, social interaction, and physical activity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with diverse groups of people and can create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment. The Activity Director will play a key role in enhancing patients’ overall well-being through meaningful recreational experiences.

Bae Pay: $16/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate a comprehensive calendar of activities
  • Plan, organize, and implement daily and monthly recreational programs
  • Lead and oversee group activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, and social events

  • Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth execution of programs
  • Arrange transportation and logistics for off-site activities
  • Monitor participant engagement and adapt activities to varying ability levels
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed by staff and participants
  • Manage recreational spaces, equipment, and supplies
  • Prepare and submit budget recommendations for program needs
  • In healthcare settings, monitor participant health and provide updates to caregivers
  • Collaborate with care teams to design activities aligned with individual treatment or wellness plans

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate individuals with varying abilities
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for recreational programming
  • Experience in recreation, healthcare, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of safety practices and group facilitation

  • Evening and weekend work for special events throughout the year

  • Good people skills are a must-- you will be working closely with residents and their families as well as various community members for volunteer opportunities 

  • Able to be creative and think outside the box

Certification is provided by the state and paid for by MCH. Class is in Helena for the week. Class this year is June 8-12, 2026
