Description

  

Prepare, inspect, assemble, dissemble, and repair all tools, devices and bolsters for the manufacturing and forging operation. Assist and advise in all forge tooling setup operations. Work on tools inside and outside presses. Process and maintain appropriate paperwork. Operate other Tool Shop equipment and machines when necessary. Repair and polish new and used forge tooling during a production run, inside and outside of presses. Perform small weld repairs, and transport tools to other work areas when necessary. Maintain high-level quality of work as a team member. Perform daily maintenance on equipment, maintain a clean work environment and work safely. 

Requirements

  

  • Follow all safety procedures and precautions. 
  • Cleaning, inspecting, repairing, assembling and disassembly of bolster tools and devices.
  • Be able to make and install hydraulic lines.
  • Be able to repair and rebuild hydraulic and nitrogen cylinders.
  • Have knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Be able to perform hydraulic testing on bolster for function and leaks. 
  • Be able to repair hydraulic and mechanical problems on bolster and tooling.
  • Be able to build and rebuild bolster from ground up.
  • Be able to set tools up in press.
  • Must have mechanical ability.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and bill of material.
  • Able to do welding repairs.
  • Safe operation of fork truck.
  • Be able to operate overhead crane.
  • Use and maintain special tools for the job.
  • Be able to use personal computer.
  • Be able to bend and form steel pipe.
  • Clean and inspect all forge dies for repair and production.
  • Grind and polish all forge die tooling using hand grinder.
  • Grind, polish and add stock to dies in the press during production.
  • Grind and polish weld repairs.
  • Grind and polish new tools.
  • Prepare tools for nitriding.
  • Assist and advise in all forge die tooling setup operations.
  • Transport tools to and from storage; forge shop oven, and/or the next work cell      called for in the tool making process.
  • Stamp forge die tooling Heat Code, tool number, impression number, etc.
  • Clean and oil dies for storage.
  • Communicate between shifts.
  • Maintain Quality as required.
  • Keeps work area in clean and orderly manner at all times.
