POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Position Overview: In this role, you will assist with overseeing the daily operations, administration, security, and support services of the detention facility while helping ensure compliance with government detention standards, company policies, and contractual requirements. You will work closely with facility leadership to support operational efficiency, staff supervision, emergency response coordination, and overall facility management activities. This position requires strong leadership, decision-making abilities, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities within a secure detention environment while maintaining professionalism and operational accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with overseeing daily detention facility operations including security, administration, transportation, maintenance, medical support, food service, and resident management activities.
- Support facility leadership with operational planning, staff supervision, scheduling coordination, and performance management activities.
- Monitor facility operations to ensure compliance with government detention standards, company policies, safety procedures, and contractual requirements.
- Conduct inspections, operational reviews, and compliance assessments to identify deficiencies, safety concerns, or operational improvement opportunities.
- Assist with coordinating emergency response activities, incident management procedures, and facility-wide operational communications.
- Review reports, incident documentation, staffing records, operational summaries, and departmental performance metrics for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with department supervisors, contractors, outside agencies, and facility personnel to support efficient and organized facility operations.
- Assist with managing staffing levels, operational resources, equipment accountability, and facility support services to maintain operational readiness.
- Support audits, inspections, compliance reviews, and operational assessments conducted by government representatives or outside agencies.
- Maintain professionalism, leadership, and effective communication while supporting a safe, secure, and orderly detention environment.
Qualifications:
- Must possess an accredited bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or have a minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience, and have knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures, and requirements for managing a secure detention/correctional facility.
- Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
- If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
- Must consent to fingerprinting.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
- Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
- Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
