Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse. This role supports production and shipping operations by ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, picked, and delivered in a timely and safe manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and shipping documentation.
  • Accurately store materials in designated warehouse locations using established procedures and inventory systems.
  • Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production lines, work cells, or shipping areas as required.
  • Prepare and package outbound shipments in accordance with company and customer specifications.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or carts (as certified).
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory as needed.
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, production teams, and logistics personnel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory or ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse and distribution environment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • May involve overtime or flexible scheduling based on operational demands.
