Equine & Animal Program Supervisor

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Starting at $20/hour

Help Students Heal Through Horses

Spark Homestead is a residential treatment program for neurodiverse adolescent girls, where horses and animals play a key role in helping students build confidence, responsibility, and emotional growth.

We're looking for an experienced Equine & Animal Program Supervisor to oversee our barn operations, care for our animals, and lead equine programming that supports both learning and therapeutic goals.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the daily operations of the barn and animal program
  • Ensure excellent care for horses and other campus animals
  • Coordinate feeding, veterinary and farrier care, medications, and facility maintenance
  • Teach riding lessons, horsemanship, and safe animal handling
  • Supervise students during barn chores and equine activities
  • Train and mentor equine staff while maintaining a safe, organized environment
  • Collaborate with clinical, residential, and education teams to support student success

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of equine or barn management experience
  • Experience teaching riding lessons and horsemanship
  • Strong knowledge of horse health, behavior, and safety
  • Leadership or supervisory experience

Preferred

  • Degree in Equine Science, Animal Science, or related field
  • PATH Intl., CHA, or similar instructor certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with youth or in therapeutic, educational, or residential settings
  • CPR and First Aid certification
