Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) maintains relationship as primary contact for customers including Distribution, OEM and End User; performs analysis and problem-solving services with application-based solutions; and grows market share in assigned territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build relationships with key decision makers. Act as primary point of contact with customers within territory.
- Coordinate power quality and reliability response, evaluation and solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend end use applications and materials related to cost-efficient use.
- Analyze customer business opportunities and threats.
- Coordinate training with distribution partners, making joint sales calls as needed.
- Communicate technical information related to product specifications and tolerances.
- Conducts presentations and meetings with key customers.
- Implement company marketing strategies.
- Performs other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
- Requires special technical knowledge [custom]
- Must understand business math such as percentages (e.g. commission, interest, discount) and measurements (e.g. area, circumference, volume, etc.)
- Must be able to demonstrate past success of sales growth
- Prefer a working understanding of lightweight belting, conveyors and various applications
- Valid driver's license and clean record required

- Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and effectively manage priorities
- Problem solving and root cause analysis
- Must have strong written and verbal skills and be able to effectively listen and communicate accurate information to internal and external customers in a professional manner.
Education and Experience
- Required ā 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Preferred ā 5-7 years relevant experience lightweight conveyor belt sales or industrial automation
- Preferred ā Bachelor's degree in related discipline; or relevant work experience in lieu of formal education
Physical Skills and Abilities
Depending on the assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information.
Working Conditions
Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to manufacturing work. Travel required (~80%).
