Basic Function:Â Responsible for assembly of mechanical and electrical parts. Â Operate solder pot, handle cable assembly, and test parts.

Significant Responsibilities:
 Performs specific job responsibilities: Â
- Assemble mechanical and electronic parts according to work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Recognize cosmetic and functional discrepancies on parts and assemblies.
- Operate solder pot according to work instructions.
- Read Bills of Materials and Shop Packs to include the router and pick list.
- Clean solder pot according to safety and operating procedures.
- Perform final assembly and tests on cables.
- Conduct rowing inspection of work in process.
- Inspect assemblies for conformance to standards.
- Operate Signature PCB test equipment.Â
- Ensure each product passes testing requirements to standards.
- Load and operate the IDC Insertion Machine.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience:Â High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Â Must have 12 months experience in assembly. Â Must be able to pass Solder Pot Certification.
Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:Â Ability to use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, nut driver, and Allen/Star/Crescent wrenches, microscope, hand crimpers and height gauge. Â Ability to use soldering iron and de-soldering tools. Â Ability to read and follow basic instructions. Â Good communication skills, both written and oral. Â Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and work instructions. Â Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Â Pays close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and assist in resolving problems. Â Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Â
Working Conditions:Â While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Â The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Â The employee must have full range of motion ability, including stretching, bending, and stooping. Â This job requires sight sufficient for significant reading. Â Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Â This work also requires an individual with hearing sufficient for extensive, direct contact with employees. Â The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Â The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Hours – Monday – Thursday 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM with some schedule flexibility required; overtime is also available.
