Responsibilities Inspect damaged vehicles and determine repair requirements. Perform high-quality collision repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, frame and structural repairs. Prepare, repair, and refinish vehicles using industry-standard techniques and equipment. Match paint colors and apply primers, base coats, and clear coats to achieve factory-quality finishes. Operate body shop equipment including welders, sanders, paint sprayers, and frame repair equipment safely and effectively. Read and follow repair estimates, manufacturer repair procedures, and technical manuals. Work closely with estimators, service advisors, and fellow technicians to ensure repairs are completed accurately and on schedule. Complete repair documentation and communicate any additional damage discovered during the repair process. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following dealership and OSHA safety standards. Stay current on manufacturer repair procedures, equipment, and industry best practices through ongoing training. QualificationsQualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training in automotive collision repair, auto body repair, or a related field is preferred. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive body shop or collision repair environment. Proven ability to complete vehicle body repairs and refinishing work that meets quality standards. Dealership or I-CAR certification is a plus but not required. Skills & Abilities Proficiency with collision repair equipment, including sanders, welders, paint sprayers, and other body shop tools. Strong knowledge of automotive repair methods, structural repair, and vehicle construction. Ability to read and interpret repair estimates, technical manuals, and manufacturer repair procedures. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
