Schedule: 40- Hour Schedule of Tuesday – Friday 5:30am – 1:30pm; Saturday 6am- 2pm. Extra hours available for covering staff vacation time, as well as emergency coverage and in all-weather conditions

We are seeking a dependable, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual who wants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adolescents in residential treatment. You’ll be part of a close-knit Food Services team that values professionalism, flexibility, and respect across all interactions—with youth, staff, and one another. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced culinary professional seeking to take on a leadership role as Head Cook!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the preparation of nutritious, well-balanced meals daily for youth and staff, ensuring portion control and adherence to USDA dietary guidelines.
- Assist with planning, executing, and adjusting menus and recipes, including accommodating special dietary needs and restrictions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and food storage areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage kitchen inventory, receive and inspect food deliveries, and oversee proper food storage and rotation.
- Assist the Chef Manager with supervision and training of kitchen staff, ensuring consistent food quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Participate in departmental planning, staff meetings, and special events, providing support to staff.
- Provide leadership and coverage in the absence of the Chef Manager, ensuring smooth kitchen operations; support staff during absences, weather-related emergencies, and holiday schedules.
Schedule:
- The Head Cook works a schedule of Tuesday – Friday 5:30am – 1:30pm and Saturday 6am - 2pm schedule that includes on call hours for emergency coverage
- Overtime hours available for covering staff vacation time
Qualifications:Â
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness and ability to become certified in Food Safety and Allergen Awareness
- Experience in institutional or commercial food service preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to consistency, cleanliness, and safety
- All applicants must pass a background check and provide a reference from a recent supervisor
- Valid, current driver’s license for 3 or more years and acceptable driving recordÂ
