PURPOSE STATEMENT  

Game One is the premier provider of apparel, gear, and equipment unifying teams and fans in schools, clubs, and organizations.  


JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring inventory transactions are recorded correctly. This role supports production teams by tracking inventory movements, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and helping maintain optimal inventory levels.


JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Inventory Management & Data Administration
    • Maintain accurate inventory records by receiving stocking, cataloging, and tracking products throughout their lifecycle.
    • Perform timely and accurate data entry within warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and inventory tracking spreadsheets.
    • Ensure inventory transactions, adjustments, and movements are properly documented and reconciled.
  • Inventory Control & Stock Monitoring
    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering and replenishment of production materials and supplies to support operational needs.
    • Conduct routine inspections and quality checks of inventory to ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Remove, document, and report damaged, obsolete, or non-conforming inventory as appropriate.
  • Auditing, Reporting & Analysis
    • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify inventory accuracy and maintain data integrity.
    • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve inventory control processes.
    • Prepare and distribute inventory reports, including end-of-year (EOY) inventory summaries, for leadership and key stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and provide reporting and analysis to support business decisions.
  • Discrepancy Resolution
    • Investigate inventory variances, stock mismatches, and transactional errors.
    • Document findings and communicate inventory irregularities, trends, and recommended corrective actions to management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with departments including Art, Sales, Account Management, Purchasing, and Production to ensure inventory availability and identify supply solutions that support production schedules and customer needs.
    • Communicate inventory status, material constraints, and replenishment timelines to stakeholders as needed.
  • Vendor & Product Support
    • Obtain pricing, lead times, and product information from vendors to support purchasing decisions and cost comparisons.
    • Research, evaluate, and test new products and materials to ensure specifications, quality standards, and business requirements are met.
    • Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and product alternatives to support operational efficiency.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years’ inventory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, inventory software, scanners and ERP systems.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Frequent use of computers, scanners, and inventory-related equipment
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, flashing lights, powered industrial truck horns and heat.
  • Noise level if usually moderate
  • Some independent travel may be required.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior warehouse/shipping/receiving experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license; insurable
