VCA Swartz Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated and compassionate team!
Schedule: Full- time opportunity (30 -35 hours) with rotating Saturdays.Â

Compensation: $15 - 17/hr, and the starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Â

Qualifications:Â
Previous experience in a veterinary settingÂ
A passion for animals and a desire to learn and grow in the veterinary fieldÂ
Excellent communication and teamwork skillsÂ
Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperamentsÂ
High school diploma or equivalent requiredÂ
What You'll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities):Â
Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and proceduresÂ
Take patient histories and perform TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration)Â
Restrain animals safely and compassionatelyÂ
Prepare and clean exam roomsÂ
Assist with radiographs, lab sample collection, and basic in-house diagnosticsÂ
Maintain accurate medical records and support chartingÂ
Provide client education and ensure excellent service during visitsÂ
Support surgery prep and recovery as neededÂ
Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized hospital environmentÂ
