Description

SUMMARY

The Quality Leader is responsible for leading and implementing quality assurance programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal quality objectives. This role coordinates quality efforts across departments, oversees internal and external audits, drives continuous improvement efforts, and ensures product and process compliance throughout manufacturing and distribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance Program Management

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance objectives in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Monitor and analyze quality assurance data to ensure process consistency and compliance.
  • Lead preparation and successful completion of ISO 9001 certification and third-party audits.
  • Manage the internal ISO 9001 audit program and corrective action process (CAR).
  • Maintain the Quality Manual and ensure that company quality records are current and accurate.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to evaluate process performance and improvements.
  • Manage the Non-Conforming Material Review (NCMR) process.
  • Present technical and program-related information to leadership teams.

Process and Equipment Oversight

  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of equipment calibration.
  • Design and implement quality assurance training and education programs across departments.
  • Conduct regular internal audits of production processes and product conformance.
  • Manage the ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) program.

Supplier Quality

  • Develop and manage the vendor scorecard and qualification process.
  • Oversee vendor audits and receiving inspection criteria, including First Article Inspections.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure alignment with quality standards.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Lead the customer satisfaction program and maintain the customer satisfaction scorecard.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to quality or technical issues.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead quality validation and verification processes for new product introductions.
  • Manage product and work cell readiness buy-offs to ensure quality compliance at launch.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce defect rates and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production teams to support quality initiatives.
  • Analyze audit and quality metrics, identify trends, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.


Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree in a technical field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in a quality-focused role.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience in quality assurance.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and related standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time
  • Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
  • Dexterity for operating a computer, tools, and office equipment.
  • Mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, grasp, twist, and reach.
  • Occasional exposure to industrial environments, including dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noise.
